I ran into a new one today. My unattended CD will run a vbscript after
installing. It creates the registry entries for a user account to autologin
and load up the standard applications on the workstation. It has worked on
every machine for quite awhile now.
After adding new network drivers for a Marvell Yukon to my unattended
install CD (Gateway E-4300 if anyone is interested), now when the auto-login
user logs in, the domain is unavailable... No logon servers are found. The
computer DID successfully join the domain, it rebooted once, it has a good
IP address...
When I break out of the auto-login cycle and log in as myself, it works like
a champ... and I can log back in again as the auto-login user and it works
again...
The only event log I can see really out of the ordinary says "the kerberos
client received a KRB_AP_ERR_TKT_NYV error from the server HW04866$. This
indicates that the ticket used against that server is not yet valid (in
relationship to that server time). Contact your system administrator to
make sure the client and server times are in sync, and that the KDC in realm
_____.ORG is in sync with the KDC in the client realm.
I've done this on two machines, same model. Same results too... I'm at a
loss... I've added a 60 second delay before the computer reboots (on top of
the 45-second delay in the shutdown command) and tries the auto-login
account, maybe some additional delay will straighten things up....
