Domain computer in branch office without domain controller

I have domain computer in branch office without domain controller. Branch
office is connected to main office with ISDN link nad that computer is only
computer in office. I have huge expences of ISDN link. I looked for log file
on router and I noticed that 95% off traffic is traffic to domain controllers
in main office through ports 137, 139 and 445. How can I establish normal
situation and cut expences? If I establish FR link, I will cut expences for a
little, if I create AD site in that office, it will be also to expencive. Can
it be done somehow different? Thanks in advance...

Hello,

what MS suggest that you should design your AD in the way you have your
physical structure. Windows 2000 and 2003 have a very good configuration for
these options. I would suggest you to setup sites and services in order to
get maximum from your domain. port number 137, 139 and 445 are used for
Netbios and directory services.

actually what is happening is your client is always going out for searching
domain controller. if possible you can put a domain controller on that site
and set site link to use brandwidth for some particular time.

otherwise there is no other way which i can think of.
