Domain based DFS

I have set up a domain based dfs and can make network
connections on the servers using the UNC of
\\domain\dfsroot\directory. This does not work on my
Windows 2000 clients that are part of the domain. It says
it cannot find the path. Can anybody tell me what I am
doing wrong as all the manuals glibly tell you to use
this UNC without indicating any problems in setup.

Many thanks

Accessing domain-based DFS root using \\domain\rootname\... should work from
Win2000 clients and is one of most common scenario.
Is \\domain\Dfsroot\directory a DFS link? If yes, can these W2000 clients
access the link targets directly?

Please send me the output of 'dfsutil.exe /pktinfo' and 'dfsutil.exe
/spcinfo' on the Win2000 client machine after a failed access? (dfsutil.exe
is a reskit/support tool)
Also send me the output of 'dfsutil.exe /view...' for this DFS root so that
I can understand what is makeup of this DFS root.
