Does XP use NBT (NetBIOS over TCP/IP)?

I have read .. "Windows 2000 (W2K), was the first version of Windows to
support SMB packet transport over TCP/IP without NetBIOS encapsulation
(NBT)." Is the same true for XP?

I know there are NetBIOS over TCP/IP options on the WINS tab of the Advanced
TPC/IP Settings property page. Do I need them if my entire NetWork
Neighborhood consists of XP machines?

If your entire network consists of XP machines, you do not want to turn
on any NetBIOS options.
