Like this link. I'd like to close winxp ' read ahead' or ' caching' function.
What can I do? Does anyboday have some suggestion for me?
Thanks a lot!

There is no user configuration setting that I am aware of that will
allow you to control the disk cache size for individual drives,

Disabling the cache for any drive will result in reduced performance
from that drive.

What results are you trying to achieve or what type of problem are you
trying to solve? There may be an alternative way of achieving the
results you want.

Good luck

Thanks Ron Martell.
In fact , I ran a benchmark software to qualify a optical disk drive. The
score is normal in first time. If I don't restart winxp and run the test
again. I will get a much better score. The case should be explain in my
report. Could you offer me some Microsoft web link or some official documents
to explain it?
