Hi all~
I run whole drive backup for C
system drive) and system state everyday.
but I would like to know, if someday C: crashed, did my windows backup tools
help me like Ghost, which can load all devices' drivers, background
services/apps, active directory, SQL database, all documents, etc.. back to
the state that I backup.
the reason why i ask this question,
coz someday i placed a new drive in my server and install w2k server in it
and then immediatelly use the tool to restore from the backup file and
system state.
after restarting..
i discovered that..
it's still in 640x480 and 16color ~
and SQL server unable to run~~~
I wonder the reliability of windows backup tools.
actually, does it backup all files(ofcoz excluding the file in excluded
list)?
if comparing with Ghost~ which can restore nearly 1GB per minute and after
restoring, the system is completely the same as before!!
It is very reliable and fast.
Should I continue to use windows backup tools to prevent harddrive crash ?
thx~~
