Does shadow copy require NTFS?

I have a Netgear SC101 that I want to used to store shadow copies. The SC101
is listed as a drive on the server via proprietary means. This drive isn't
available in the shadow copy properties. When I review disk management, the
SC101 drive lists as an SFSZ file format. Does this have anything to do with
why I don't see the drive available in shadow copy properties? Is there
something I'm missing or does this device simply not work with shadow copy?

on standard Windows 2003 box .. VSS only works on NTFS partitions.
I think the best answer can came from your hardware vendor.
