Does not reconize my burner

Windows Moview maker does not recognize my NEC DVD+/- RW Model: ND2100AD that
came with my DELL computer
 
Your windows XP system is probably not recognizing it as a burner. If you
stick in a blank cd can you drag files to it in windows explorer to burn
them?
 
Well it certainly cannot recognize it if you have a DVD in it, XP cannot
burn to a DVD, it needs third party software, however it should recognize it
if you put a CD-R/RW in it.
