Does not recognize new device.

I got new external hard drive. It works fine on the other computer but on mine.
It is "plug & play" but the "window XP" does not recognize, but it said
workins properly in "device manager" but it's not in "my computer". I tried
to install manually but "hardware wizard" say "you can install one device at
a time"
Please Help Me.
