Does not check all users?

H

Howard

When I run MSAS under my user name (and I am the
administrator) it does not find any problems. When I run
it under the other user's name it finds two
problems, "Claria" and a home page redirector. I thought
if I run MSAS as an Admin it would check the entire
computer? Do I need to run this under each user name?

Also, MASA will not remove the two problems under the
second user name. I use the remove tool on MSAS but the
problems keep coming back as "ignored".

Any help would be appreciated...Thanks

There are problems (I don't know how to define them accurately) with regard
to multiple users, and administrative versus limited users in the current
beta product.

You might try temporarly elevating the other user to administrator, running
the scan, then demoting.

At this present stage, MSAS does not support scanning multiple and limited
account, I guess just have wait until beta 2 see it fixed. Hold tight.

There's an options setting in Microsoft Antispyware for the type of user.
Options, settings, general, User modes, knowledgable versus Novice.

Novice is prevented from taking some actions as I recall--this might be
worth checking,
