Does my version of Movie Maker have a "Save to DVD" option?

I have a computer with Media Center Edition 2005. It has two disc drives.
One is labeled DVD +/- Writer/CD-Writer. I have used it to burn CDs of
photos, text etc. The same drive was used to burn a set of "Recovery Discs".
It required two DVD-R discs. The same drive was also used to burn a set of
"Recovery Discs" using CD-R discs. The process required 16 discs.
I also used one of the DVD-R discs to burn a movie selecting the WMM
"automovie" option and played it on a Panasonic DVD/CD player. I also
followed the advice by Wojo in a recent post to make sure that burning is
enabled on the drive. But I still don't know if I have the software that
will allow me to "Save to DVD"
I think the answer to my question is No, WMM does not have a "Save to DVD"
option. You need another program such as Nero. Is this correct?
It's very confusing especially to a novice like me.

Most MCE PC's do have the "Save to DVD" option.

Since you were able to use Automovie to create a DVD then the answer is yes
you do have that option.

In the "Movie Tasks" pane on the left under #3 "Finish Movie" you should see
"Save to DVD"

I personally do not recommend using this option as it tends to make useless
coasters out of your DVD's but instead recommend saving the movie to your
harddrive and then importing it into a DVD Authoring program to create your
DVD. Since you have an MCE machine then you already have Sonic MyDVD which
is a DVD Authoring program.

But the answer to the question you asked is apparently YES.

What are useless coasters? I haven't heard that term used before.
I have Sonic My DVD Plus. I assume it's also a DVD Authoring program. Does
it differ much from Sonic My DVD or is it the same program?
Thank you for your help.

Any disk that has been burned but fails
to perform is commonly called a coaster.
Have a look at the following site:

Yes you have a DVD authoring program...
I'm thinking Sonic MyDVD Plus is an older
version...the current version is: MyDVD 9.
