Does Internet Component Download work in IE 6.0?

I am having problems deploying my ActiveX control on the web using
Internet component download. I am on a Windows 2000 machine. I am
folling an article I found on msdn, but that article was written in
1997. Thus, I am wondering does anyone know if this still works today
with IE 6.0 running on Windows 2000?
