I have a couple of friends at the University that are trying to get
Linux Samba working with Vista and they need to activate the copy of
Vista in order to reverse engineer the SMB protocol.
Any help will go toward the Linux cause!
Best Wishes.

No they don't. You can install it without a key and use for 30 days.
There's also freely available info on the net showing you how to extend
that to 120 days.

It needs all the help it can get.

You can use this key:

BITE-ME-YOU-SCUMMY-DOUCHE-BAG

Make sure you type it correctly or Vista won't activate

How clever of you to ask for help pirating a Microsoft product in
Microsoft-run newsgroups! And using what appears to be a real E-mail
address, too.

Yet another pathetic attempt by a Linux troll to upset this newsgroup.. ha..

In an earlier post, another Roy Schestowitz complained that a poster here is
committing identity theft. It might not be the real Roy Schestowitz asking
for keys, rather an imposter.

yes i do, thank you for asking. now go **** yourself with a rusty chainsaw
at full throttle.

HTH, HAND, and GFIA

Outside on no interest in helping the "linux" cause, I don't understand why
they don't just use the -rearm trick. If they can't figure out the problem
in 120 days then I'd say they just want Vista for free and really aren't
doing anything to help linux.

Well that was amusing.

why is he pirating?

Because he wants it free?

Here is what you do
YOU buy a copy of Vista. EMAIL him the Key,
and then chuck the case in the waste basket.

He's legal
You're a good samaritan.
I'll believe your next post.

By what leap of faith did you ascertain that the OP has any connection to
Linux?

Because he said so, you say? Did you see that word "ascertain" in my
question? Try again.

If someone buys and gifts him a product key then its not pirating...

Well don't let anyone stop you stepping up to the plate on that one.

I doubt that guy uses Linux. Doesn't seem smart enough. Setting up and
using Linux is a real challenge these days, as most PC parts are
designed for use with Windows. Some peripherals, such as modems, won't
work with Linux, no matter what you do. I know. I've tried. I run Linux
on one of my hard drives on my PC, but I still use Windows XP for most
stuff. Linux is just a hobby for me.
