Does anybody know how to unprotect a 2003 Word document/Template

Hello everyone

Well I have a few Word Document/Template that have been developed in 2003
and they are protected. Now using 2007 does anybody know how to unprotect
these document/template using supposedly 2007 helpfull ribbons.... I
basically spend more than couple of hours and I could not find it and make it
to work...

Please help I need it desprately... So far I have found these supposedly
helpful ribbon very frustrating....

Protected documents with passwords cannot be unprotected. But if you wish to
unprotect without a password go to

Developer Tab
Protect Document

If you don't have Developer tab showing go to
Office Button
Word Options
Check box "Show Developer Tab in Ribbon"

Again, if the document is password protected you won't be able to unprotect
it.

Hi,

But what if I know the password and I have developed it myself in 2003
version? Still I can not unprotect it? Do you mean I have to start the
document from the scratch and re-do it again 2007? or take it to a machine
with 2003 on it and unprotect it then bring it back again to 2007?

I think Microsoft by this new ribbon and changing even the name of the
groupings of the command under a new name on a ribbon has made it really hard
for the user to spend time and dig and search the common command that they
used to.
