I downloaded something called regcure and I think that is my problem, a
window keeps popping saying documentviewer the message is "the feature you
are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not
available" First which disk would i find it on and second I have tried to do
a system restore thinking that would fix it and no matter what date i choose
it can not be restored, I was not smart enough to click create a restore
point with the regcure, would uninstalling this help,,I have windows XP, I
would appreciate any help!!!
Thank you

What did you use "regcure" for and did it offer you a way to backup before
you applied its "changes"?

The regcure was recommended to fix and help the pc run faster, i did not
click restore point on the regcure before running, no. Do you know which
disk I would find the documentviewer download? thanks

I had the same problem and I used a restore point that was 1 month old and
it fixed the problem.

TWO lessons there:

FIRST: it's obvious that at least SOME programs that are supposed to
help your PC run faster, DON'T. They merely cause problems in the
hands of inexperienced users. Might even do the same with the most
experienced users, but most of those don't believe such hype and stay
away from such programs.

SECOND: ALWAYS make a restore point before installing new software.

Your best bet at this point is to find a restore point that precedes
your problems and use it.

Hi, Deb. Are you saying that when you try to do a System Restore that the restore is unsuccessful or that the restore is successfull but the problem remains. If it is the former then it sounds like your system may have become corrupted and may require a clean install. Remember that this is only if the computer is incapable of doing a successful System Restore and only a possibility.

Dear Deb,
I red your message about "the feature..." etcetera.
I had the same message after re-installing XP, and I finally found out it
was my Hewlet Packard-programm that had to be re-installed: it contains a
"document-viewer". After re-installing only this part, the message
disappeared.

Thanks to everyone who responded, I found a simple fix for my computer.
I, too, downloaded RegCure trial - then the full version - then received
the "feature you are..." message. I thought the "Document Viewer"
sounded like something from one of my software programs, and thanks to
this thread had a quick answer - thanks, Bernard! I did not do a restore
point, nor re-install XP, nor have to uninstall anything. All I did was
insert the hp disc at the prompt, and I was good to go. And - the
RegCure has made my computer faster. :)

Wondering : have you rebooted your computer yet ?
