Documents won't open

The files we have set up in Documents often will not open unless we reboot
our computer. Anyone know why and how we can fix this irritating problem?

More information would really be helpful. What kind of documents are they
and what applications do they open with? Are they on local or network
drives? Are there any error messages? Can you tell us anything about
the computer itself? Etc.
