documents cant be accessed

Dear Sir,
I had a fatal error on my Windows XP Home Edition system.
I tired a lot to repair it but it was not possible. Now i
have reinstalled Windows XP but now i cant open the
documents folder coz it was private. isthere any way so
that i can open my old documents. i remeber the password but it doesn't ask
for it.
