Can the entire Documents and Settings Folder be moved
from the Primary Partition (C: for WinXP) to a logical
partition (F:)?

Thank you

Arne

Hi,

No, this is a fixed system folder. If you are concerned about space, some
folders like "My Documents" can be redirected to other volumes.

There is a way; I would not advise it as some of the contents are needed
at logon,. Rather just move individual user's My Documents and similar
folders, which amount to most of the content

The "Application Data" tree under your profile doesn't like to be
moved. This is where individual applications store profile specific
data. All of the "My ______" are O.K., but some shell folders, if
redirected will revert back to a fixed location within the profile on
the next Boot or Log in.

For a listing of your profile data folders, Look here:
[Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders]
