Documents and Settings Folders

After installing XP Pro I now have two documents and
setting folders -
Documents and Settings
Documents and Settings.001

Is the .001 folder needed for proper operation or can it
be deleted?

Depends.. Which one is being used?

Shenan Stanley,

The Documents and Settings folder contains: All Users
Folder, Default User Folder, and my user folder.

The Documents and Settings.001 folder contains only the
All Users Folder and Default User Folder and most of the
subfolders are empty.
