Documents and Settings.000

I have a Documents and Settings.000 folder as well as a Documents and Settings
folder.

I'm running Win XP Pro (upgraded from Win 98 SE).

Can anyone tell be what Documents and Settings.000 folder is, and is it necessary?

TIA

At a DOS prompt type
SET
and check the settings for USERPROFILE and ALLUSERSPROFILE. If they
point to DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS you can delete the other folder. You
may want to check its contents for if there is some data that you want
to take over to the other folder before.

Thanks for the info. I checked and the .000 version isn't referred to in any SET
values.

BTW there were a couple other values that referred to Documents and settings.
APPDATA HOMEPATH TEMP & TMP.

Thanks again.

That is normal behaviour.
