Document keeps crashing

I wrote, have edited, and printed a textbook of biblical hebrew (using all
true-type fonts), the last edition being done in Word 2003. After buying and
installing a new copy of MSOffice 2003 (I changed companies, and so couldn't
keep the copy), I can no longer edit this file without it crashing. It is
about 8M. It pulls up fine, and I can make changes to the end of the doc and
to the first 20 pages (and automatic backup works fine while I'm doing that),
but when I try to save it, or it gets to around p. 25, it locks up. Any help?
