Document image disappears, its there but can't see it???

I create a document, place a bitmap on it and it disappears off of the
screen. it is still there as i can click on it and see the frame. As well,
if i arrow down and then up it reappears. if i scroll up or down it will
sort of wipe away. this problem does not happen with power point or excel!?!?

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start | Control
Panel | Display | Advanced | Troubleshooting. You might also
check the website of the manufacturer of your graphics adapter to
see if an updated graphics driver available.
