Doc's styles are not being used.

I wrote a large word doc using several different styles. Then saved as a .doc
file, zipped the file and sent to a coworker. He is using same version of
Word (2003). He unzips and opens the file and instead of using what the doc
has for normal style (arial 9), it uses his machine's normal style of Times
Roman 12. Why didn't it open with the arial 9 style? How do you keep this
from happening?

Hi dlb,

Go into the menu, "Tools > Templates and Add-ins", and uncheck
"Automatically update document styles".
With that setting, Word loads the styles from the template when you open the
document.
