Docking stations for SATA drives

I have a 2tb SATA drive in a Minevox (formerly DVICO) TViX-HD M6620N
Dual Tuner Media Player. This drive just slides into a slot on the
side of the unit. It has a clip to hold it in place.

I want to get some type of docking station for my computer so that I
can connect it to my computer without having to open up my computer.
My computer has usb 2.0 but not usb 3.0. I might upgrade my
computer with a new motherboard with usb 3.0 fairly soon.

Can anyone recommend a good docking station? Are there any I should
avoid?

The ones I see on eBay have the drive connector down into the bay
with most of the drive sticking up into the air. Can I assume that
a drive operated that way would stay very cool?

Those red and black ones on ebay with various brand work fine.

The power supplys on some of them don't last that long.

That's the way most of the docking stations do it.

Certainly with the green samsungs they do.

Modern MoBo's has eSATA ports no need to go to a Slow USB system.

Or just this item
