Every question I'm reading has no response.....am I missing something here? Guess I'll give it a shot anyway
I got big problems here that I've been trying to fix for some time now....even had online tech support with no result. Internet Explorer keeps giving me "Page not found" or "Page unable to display" errors when I try to view secure web pages, even without a firewall
That's my first issue....2nd issue is I recently started getting "error has occured in the script on this page", causing me to have to close the window. Now I have no idea if these 2 issues are related or not......dammed if I know
My 3rd issue....I'll try and explain this one the best I can although I do not remember every error in detail. When I tried to go to Windows Updates, for some reason (don't remember what it said) it wouldn't update....I clicked on a link that I thought would help....started to do what it said, ie; delete temp. internet files, then I think I started doing something with deleting the files that were in the windows update folder (like I said, can't remember what). Anyway...it froze up before I finished deleting what it said to,and I had to end it. I went back to Windows Update.....and now it's even worse! It says I need to be an administrator to get to it!!
Please please please, someone help me! I'll try anything! I have no idea what to do
Thanks in advance
Oh and one more question....what is this whole ActiveX crap?.....it always pops up saying something about "security settings prohibit running controls...page won't display properly". How do I change that? Please also forgive my ignorance, I really know NOTHING! :

First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
