Do NOT use Vista!

“Vista is an upsell masquerading as an upgrade. It is an overall
regression when you look at the most important aspect of owning and
using a computer: your control over what it does. Obviously MS Windows
is already proprietary and very restrictive, and *well worth rejecting*.
But the new *'features' in Vista are a Trojan Horse* to smuggle in even
more restrictions. We'll be focusing attention on detailing how they
work, how to resist them, and why people should careâ€,

So Troll, what bridge do you live under? Do you even qualify for a bridge?

And you spam this all over. I'm posting from Windows Mail in Vista and I'm
having no problems with it. It is a much, much more secure operating system
and some people have problems adjusting to it. I'm getting to like it more
and more as I get used to it. Of course it has some things I don't care
for, but you can't possibly please everyone,

That was pretty funny. Vista bad! Fire bad!

Frank, I was going to wait a few months but <nobody@nodomain> above
has me curious. Presuming that you are using the release version and
not a Beta:

Do you feel that there is any speed penalty? (vs XP)

Can you get by with 1GB ram, or does it really need 2GB?

What are the things that you don't care for?

<*note: out of 23+ multi-posts, 8+ different subject lines...*>

I'm all about your right to say whatever you want.
Go for it.

However - could you hone your spamming method of
advertising by learning to cross-post? Seeing this
same thread over-and-over - sometimes with slightly
different subject lines - always unread because you
multi-posted instead is just annoying to me.

It does not want to make me visit your web page or
read the slant you have taken on any web page, but leads
me to believe you are nothing more than a spammer.

Doesn't matter if that is fact or fiction...
It's an impression - just like one would get when watching
late night TV and seeing some of the ads for some of the
ridiculous products and get-rich quick schemes. In other
words - it doesn't shine the most positive light on
whatever message you may be trying to spread.

I am *not* attacking your message. Go for it.

I may not agree with your language or the extremeness of
some of your politics - but I am grateful I don't - or
how boring would this life be?

I'm using 1 GB and it seems reasonably fast for me and the things I do.

I get irritated by UAC sometimes and I have trouble with permissions
sometimes. I'm sure it will get better as a learn more. I've already got
most of the customizations I like working. For me the IE7 user interface
takes a bit more room than my customized IE6 toolbars did, but not that much
and I can easily live with it. I'm learning how to use the Command Bar for
everything I used to use the menu bar for.

I find Aero and Glass and 3-D to be eye candy I don't need.

Please read Spamcop's TOS before reporting non-spam.

http://www.spamcop.net/fom-serve/cache/14.html says:
We define spam as Unsolicited Bulk Email (UBE). To be considered spam, a
message must be:

1. Unsolicited (I didn't request it explicitly or implicitly); and,
2. Bulk (the same message was sent to many people at once).

The vast majority of messages in any newsgroup fall into this category,
intent must be taken into account on Usenet messages. Just because it's
excessively multiposted and off-topic doesn't make it spam by Spamcop's
definition. The deputies can clear this up for you.
Some examples of messages which should not be reported as spam:

1. Email flaming you from someone you are in an argument with.
2. Email from people who you want to "get into trouble".
3. Email that is obviously sent innocently to an incorrect address. This
might include sales receipts, booking confirmations, etc.
4. "Office email" with stupid jokes/anecdotes/attachments.
5. Forwarded/CCed email from "friends and family" regarding signing
petitions.

The message you reported could easily fall into category 1 or 2 from this
list. Additionally, it's a bad idea to followup to spam as it helps it's
propagation past sites that employ cleanfeed.

Please do so yourself: Newsgroup spam IS reportable and drivel such as this
meets the requirements completely.
You cannot read parts of a TOS individually without reading the whole
thing. IF that doesn't satisfy you, check it out on the nntp's. I haven't
checked on google, but my own logs show this spam occurring on at least ten
newsgroups, none of which have anything to do with Vista.
It is sent automatically, all from the different sources but parsing to
a single point, all off topic, all using forged headers: That meets the
requirements easily.

I also neglected to mention, they are multiposted, not cross-posted, which
makes them in violation of ng reqs also.

Are you a representative of Spamcop? I thought not. Why are you
trying to imply that you are. If and when Spamcop has a problem with my
use of their service, I'm sure they'll let me know. Until then, go
stick your nose somewhere else.

By the way, on Usenet, any off-topic post is, by definition, spam.
