Do not copy and paste from Excel 2003 to 2002

if one
selected a self contained range( no reference to outside the range) with
formula from excel 2003 (like using RDP on another pc), copy then paste to a
local Excel 2003 somewhere on spreadsheet tab.
Excel promptly will crash.

unhandled except at 0x300e58a3 in excel.exe 0xc0000005: access violation
writing location 0x00000000

Hi GS,
I think that you need to offer more clues..

1. If you repro this step reversely ?
2. Let me know the data was copied.
3. Other samples works fine? or Always repro.

Generally, Excel uses an inline function to improve performance while
calculating the cell lookup. When it does occur, it may cause an Access
Violation to occur.

Good day!!

I am not at all surprised, simply attempting to copy paste between 2
running instances of the same version of Excel on one machine will break
the copy/paste. Here you have 2 PC's, 2 versions of Excel, and attempt
it through RDP?

1. If you repro this step reversely ?
copy from excel xp to 2003 for self conained seelction does not seem to be
any problem and I guess we can rightly expect such
2. Let me know the data was copied. however in some test case tehre was
some copied see below
data was not copied, crashed before that
3. Other samples works fine? or Always repro.
have tried a number of simlar samples and crash
copy without formula always work
copy value also work
copy individual formula with F2 access on the original and pasted to target
works (equivalent text copy)
copy a small entire worksheet with formula from remote excel 2003 and paste
to target local excel xp also crashes always.
even right after the local pc reboots.

in this case data were copied up to before the first formula cell, losing
formats in the recovered sheet

in other word don't copy with formula from excel 2003 to 2002
