Do I NEED HELP!! DOS Program under 2K or XP

G

Greg Smith

I have a program originally developed for DOS,
640X480X256 which at this point I can't move readily to
Windows platform. We are currently looking for someone
willing to take on the challange of conversion....
ANYWAY, when the program goes to run in 2K or XP (after
setting up pif) it seems to launch to a point and then
the window closes without error message. Is anyone
willing to look at this. I have a demo on Sunday ARGH!
and the customer is only interested in these 2 op syses.
It runs fine under 98se. Suggestions or someone willing
to take it and try are MUCH appreciated or it's crash &
burn.

Many Thanks,
Greg

What makes you think a program specifically written for DOS might run
properly under a non-DOS operating system? Why can't you continue to
run it under DOS?

Hi Greg,

Try the full screen mode with "strg-enter".
Your description makes me assume, that you have a grapical
output. - In Windows NT, 2000, XP it is definitely not possible
to run an VGA graphical DOS-application within a window. But they
run fine as "full screen" application.

The only solution for this task is VMware.

(I would be very happy, if anyone knows better.)

Best regards,
Reinhardt
