Do I need a new driver or what??

Just upgraded from Windows 98 to XP professional. One of
the things that went wrong and I could not resolve is
that my copy utility of my UMAX Astra 1220U scanner does
not work any more.

Does Windows XP have a driver that I can use to make the
program work and where can it be found, or do I have to
download and pay for the software from UMAX again.

Can someone point me in the right direction please

Thanks

If you had paid attention when installing XP you would have noticed that it
ran upgrade advisor and gave you a list of hadware that would require new
drivers.

First, drivers, even those included with XP are supplied by the
manufacturer. If you use the XP Scanner and Camera Wizard for your scanner,
there should be no problem. Start\All Programs\Accessories\Scanner and
Camera Wizard.

However, the software supplied with your scanner is likely no longer
compatible. The copy utility is a part of the VistaScan bundle and the
version of VistaScan supplied with your scanner is no longer compatible with
XP. You might try contacting UMAX for an updated version or inquire of them
about software that might work with your scanner and XP.

I got to where I think that should come up but the
keyboard and mouse won't work. What then?
