Do I have SP2 or perhaps part of the download?

I was a bit concerned that I had not seen any indication that Automatic
Update had downloaded SP2 onto my two computers, so I checked Add or
Remove Programs in Control Panel. I was surprised to find I had 16
entries named "Windows XP Hotfix (SP2) Qxxxxx" on the XP Home computer
and 17 entries on the computer running XP Professional . When I go to
the Windows Update site it tells me I need to install SP2.
I do not appear to have any of the SP2 modifications on either computer.
If anyone can suggest what could have happened (if anything!) I would
be most grateful.

Hi DD,

The entries you see as SP2 are just the "Hotfixes" for SP1. You will need to
download and install SP2.

You need to download SP2. If you had the 'official' SP2, you would see SP2 in
add/remove programs, and not much else, besides programs. To double check,
click
Start>Run>type "winver" (without quotes).

SP2 adds security alerts, and windows firewall to the control panel. it also
places a running icon in the system tray.

Those were components that eventually went into SP2 that you had in fact
installed earlier - think of them as candidates for it. Check at
Control Panel - System to see if it mentions Service Pack 2, but I think
it has yet to complete downloading. When it does it will come up with a
EULA license page for you to agree before actually doing the
installation (which will then take 20 to 30 minutes)
