DNS service Dependancys

Dear All

We have one stubbornly remaining Win 2000 Svr DC which i am in the process
of removing.

Currently it runs DNS but not activley.
I want to remove DNS from it and have migrated this service sucessfully to
other servers in the domain.

HOWEVER the NETLOGON service is listed as a DEPENDANCY of the DNS service,
and i require the NETLOGON service to be opperational and running in order
for users to access an app on the server.

if i remove DNS the NETLOGON service fails to start as a result.

Any Ideas as to how i get around this......???
Ive checked the registy keys to modify Service Dependancys for NETLOGON but
they appear to have configured by the system as the depend on service is a
REG_MULTI_SZ value.

ANY HELPPPPP please..

It won't hurt to continue running the DNS service.
That said, it was common in Win2k to add this dependancy to single DC
environments, to prevent startup errors. All you need to do is use regedt32,
(Can't use regedit) and delete the line with DNS in it.
