cause I'm PHP programming and i need to have many possibilities while
testing my apps. sometimes they're depends on many dns names.
It will be easier for me if i have DNS server on my computer but it
isn't strong enough to install Win 2000 Server.
DNS Server as far as I know in Windows 2000 requires Active Directory. At leat Microsoft implementation of it in Windows. Since Windows 2000 Professional cannot implement Active Directory the tentative answer is No. You may find a UNIX implementation of it then use Cygwin.
Actually ... you don't need (and IMO you don't want) the MS implementation
anyways, both because it requires AD, and because it is a dog.
The stantard, and Windows native, implementation of DNS servers for
Windows is ISC BIND, a native port of the open-source BIND DNS server
for Windows. Visit http://www.isc.org/index.pl?/sw/bind/
I use it in both W2K Servers and Pro and is light (but could be lighter,
to tell the truth ...) compared to MS.

That's not true. Windows 2000 DNS does not require Active Directory! I
migrated to Windows 2000 AD by first installing Windows 2000 DNS on
two Windows 2000 member servers in a NTDomain, so I know it is not
true. Also, if it were true, it would preclude the use of Windows 2000
DNS in a workgroup.
However Windows 2000 DNS will not run on the workstation versions.
Download one from tucows, if you aren't at all picky about having AD and
DDNS capabilities. You'll be able to handle basic zone files, and thats
about it.
