I have suddenly developed a dns server problem, I can go to web sites using
the numerical address, ie. 212.64.45.59, but it will not accept the www
address.
Can anyone help. My system is Windows XP home edition.

What kind of Internet connection do you use, and what DNS servers do you
use? Are they dynamically provided by a DHCP server, such as your router?
What *is* your DNS server? If it's your router's IP address, try manually
changing it to your ISP's DNS servers.

The problem is the winsock, you have the winsock corrupted,,spy programs
cause this. You must use the winsockxpfix, this program repair the register
keys necessaries to make work well the winsock

He could also just have a DNS error. If he is on a workgoup and has a
server providing DNS, and it's not set up on the LAN correctly, he'll
get these types of error as well.
