Hi
I work on a Laptop. When I'm working in my company, i use the LAN to access
the internet and when i'm at home I use the DIAL Connectivity to access the
internet.
I dont have any problem when I'm using the LAN. But when I connect to the
DIALUP , I'm getting connected to the internet but the name resolving is not
happening...When I try with NSlookup,, It is trying to reach LAN DNS instead
of ISP's DNS.
Even after disabling the LAN,,Same issue persists.

Please let me know ,how i can resolve this issue.

Hi santana,

I guess that when you are using your laptop nside your company , it ios
comfigure to use your internal DHCP and DNS server.

When you are at home and you dial up to your ISP, you need to set proper IP
settings for your provider.

As yo can work with both (inside LAN and Homne), you need to configure your
IP configuration to use the Alternate Ip connfiguration.
For that right click on your dialup connection and select properties, then
select your TCP/IP protocol and properties, then go to Alternate
configuration tab and enter all IP , subnet mask and DNS information from
your provider

Nope ! I'm not having any dedicated IP from the ISP. And I'm using a Static
IP in my home.

Read Serge's instructions again. You are getting a dynamic public IP
address from your home ISP and of course your home ISP uses different
DNS servers than your company does. If you don't know the proper DNS
information to enter into the Alternate Configuration, call your ISP or
look on its webpage.
