DNS now resolving new sites

Newsgroup

Hello,

I am using a live server as our Web hosting as well as DNS machine. The
current problem which I am facing is: when I create a new site and insert
its DNS credentials in DNS i.e. Alias, hostname etc, the DNS never resolves
it from nslookup.

It was working fine few days ago and still resolving old sites but not
resolving any new information being written on it.

Any clue/help will be highly appreciated,

Thanks,

Hasnain.

hmm. Will need some more info. Can you:
1) ping the server?
2) use nslookup or dig to query anything on the server or just can't resolve
specific records?
3) Do you see anything in the event log?
4) Is the DNS server service running? Check Services in Control Panel.

In addition, an ipconfig /all will also help! Let's see what DNS he's using.

For this kind of weird issue, I would first restart the
service, if not working, reboot the server.

Only still not working, then try to find the cause and
fix...

Thanks Stacey and Fekay. The problem was resolved by restarting the DNS
service. The server was pinging properly, resolving the existing DNS
queries, event log was clear but unable to resolve newly created DNS
entries. So someone gave me the idea of restarting DNS services, in case of
DNS misbehavior and it work.

Anyway thanks alot dear.
