Hi, all,
In some particular computer with WIN2000 I have problem when I'm trying to
connect to domain.
The error message I got:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
The following error occurred validating the name "<MY DOMAIN NAME>"
This condition may be caused by a DNS lookup problem. For information about
troubleshooting common DNS lookup problems, please see the following
Microsoft Web Site:
http://go.microsoft.com/?LinkID=5171
The specified domain either does not exists or could not be contacted

--

I have'nt problem to communicate with domain's computer, I can see it in
network, I can browse it, all pings are working fine, ipconfig settings are
ok.
I JUST CAN'T CONNECT THE COMPUTER TO DOMAIN.

I tried already to delete all network components and reinstall it - still
some problem.

I took another computer with exactly similar configuration. I compared ALL
settings in network connection, in TCP/IP, ipconfig - everything.
From second computer it work fine, from first one - still not. But at list I
detected that problem is in the workstation, not in domain.

Now, I remember clearly that few weeks ago I connected succesfuly from this
computer to domain. And now it stopped to work..

Please, please, please, help!!

double check that your client's DNS settings are pointed to an AD DNS server
in that domain.

I'm having the exact same problem. DNS is configured properly. Every
other computer in the domain is able to connect. I have not installed
any new programs. I have not made any changes to the system. I have
rebooted many times. I have gone through the article at ms
(http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/dns/tshoot/dns_tshoot2A.asp) and
cannot resolve this problem. I really need help!!!!
