DNS for LAN, ISA, Exchange2000

Hi all,

I need a small support and guidence.

My first domain controller (PDC)is configured on a PIII
PC with DNS, ADS, DHCP and also our company projects... a
long ago.

Recently We received a new DELL server which is going to
replace this old PDC server.

I installed Windows2000 server and executed the dcpromo.
It successfully completed and then I disconnected the old
domain controller.
All the users are able to get authenticated and they can
able to share and browse the intra network.

I came accross few problems like.

a.) Exchange 2000 is not starting it's services till the
DNS setting are changed to old PDC and that PDC shld bring
into the network.

b.) All the users are not able to do network activites
like change of local password, modifying network
permission and so on. Again they need to change their
settings to old DNS server.

c.) I am using ISA server. Even they are not able to
browse the internet till they change to ISA DNS address or
to the ISP's DNS.

d.) Is there any solution, where it works for local network
(PDC, Exchange2000) and internet without changing these
network parameters everytime.

Can anyone help me in resolving this problem.

Thanks & Regards,
Kamesh Akella

Hi Kamesh-

Prior to shutting down the old DC, did you transfer any FSMO roles it may
have been serving for your Forest\Domain? Also did you transfer DNS to the
new DC?
