Hi

I am recieving an error in the DNS log

Event ID: 705
DNS Server sendto () function failed. The data is in error.

I have looked at MS KB article #:244132 which lists a patch, but how am I supposed to get it without forking over a bunch of cash to MS

Not when you have to go through MS support to get the fix, which is what the KB article says

Jeff :-)

If you call in, reference theKB number and ask only for the hotifx - no
support you should not be charged.

They will not charge you. Tell them the article number and tell them it is a
hotfix. The customer support people now actually give these out directly.
Just say the article describes my issue. The KB article does actually say
this.....just don't ask for any further help and you will not be charge to
get the file in question....

"NOTE: In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support
calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a
specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will
apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the
specific update in question."
