Hey,

I get a DNS error everytime my computer comes out of
standby and I try to access the internet. I tried
disallowing standby, but that didn't work. If I want to
access the internet I am forced to restart the computer -
then it works properly. Any help?

Can this be the issue?

The AutoDial Procedure Stops If You Quit Internet Explorer
When Internet Explorer performs an AutoDial procedure, the Internet Explorer
window and the Dial-Up Connection dialog box are displayed. If you configure
the AutoDial feature to automatically connect, the AutoDial procedure
starts. When this occurs, you can quit Internet Explorer. If you do this,
the Dial-Up Connection dialog box closes. Because the connection is not
established, the modem dials, negotiates line speed, and then stays
connected until an Internet service provider (ISP) timeout occurs and quits
the connection.

DNS or DHCP? In either case try releasing your connection
before going into standby. E.g.

ipconfig /release

Then when you come back use

ipconfig /renew

If you like you could put those two commands into a command file
with a pause between them so all you have to do is run the command
file before going into standby and then press Enter once you come back.
