dns and .name domains

we have just added 2 .name domains and two .com domains. they all point to
the same ip address. the .com domains resolve correctly and receive mail.
the .name domains resolve internally, but not beyond our network.

are there any special settings for the .name domains?

Are they registered and is your DNS the authoritative server? If not,
nobody outside will ever find them.
