DNS Active Directory Windows 2000 Server

OK ...

how aboutthis one ....

win2k server
running activedirectory dhcp and dns (tcp/ip 10.10.1.1)

two workstations

win2k professional vaio notebook (tcp/ip 10.10.1.20)
winXP professional desktop (tcp/ip 10.10.1.12)

all hooked up via ethernet tcp/ip ...
ipconfig /all shows what itshould (scroll down for result ...)

everything is running fine as log as i provide the tcp/ip adress for local
dns server (10.10.1.1)

but of corse i got no internet connection

therefore i use a ISDN link router (tcp/ip 10.10.1.254)
which runs fine as long is i provide the dns server adresses from my ISP

THE PROBLEM IS:
[ISP = internet service provider]

when i set up the workstations with all 3 dns server adresses (1 local and 2
from ISP) i cant access the internet
seting up ISP dns server adresses only results in good internet access but
the workstations cannot connect to the local server

the funny thing is that the server itself has all 3 dns server adresses set
(in network adapter tcp/ip settings) and accesses the internet without any
trouble ...

pinging tcp/ip adresses wherever in the world would work in all possible
setups
only name resolution doesnt work ....

here the resultfrom ipconfig /all (sorry this is in german but i think you
can figure out)

P:\>ipconfig /all

thanx ...

but youre hint was just not practical
the field forward to ... is greyed out because my server is a root server
.... ?!?

what should i do next ?

besides ...
when i reinstalled windows xp professional on my desktop
windows recognized my network adapter BUT in ipconfig /all the MAC adress of
this adapter was 00-00-00-00-00
so i reinstalled the adapter with the vendors driver ... getting the right
mac adress when punching in ipconfig /all
BUT the DHCP server kept my machine name with MAC adress 00-00-00-00-00 in
memory
so i killed that record in the DHCP and tried to get a new lease ... which
worked fine ...

NOW ... i got a new lease and TCP/IP adress an MAC adress make sense

when typing ipconfig /all in cmd i get the following ...
************************************************
P:\>ipconfig /all

even though i configured a third DNS server in DHCP i don't get one here ...
(i tried ipconfig /release > /renew several times)
only the ISP's dns adresses are listed ...
i can acces the internet ....
and till now there are no errors in event viewer
and i can log in to my domain (change user) real fast ...

is everything correct now ... !?!??
