dns 4011 error

Hi all,
I have windows 2000 advanced server running DNS and DHCP. Since the last few
days my event veiwer has been recording numerous DNS error events of the
following nature:

Event ID: 4011
Source: DNS
Description: The DNS server was unable to add or write an update of domain
name _gc/_ldap in zone (zone name) to the Active Directory. Check that the
Active Directory is functioning properly and add or update this domain name
using the DNS console. The event data contains the error.

On searching microsoft TechNet error event messages I found the following
explanation to this particular error:
---------------------------------------------------
Explanation:
You might not have permission to access this file.

User Action:
Check the permissions on the specified file:

1. In Windows Explorer, go to the Systemroot\System32\Dns folder.
2. Right-click the specified database file, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Security tab, and then click Permissions.
4. Verify that you have the proper permissions to read, write, and run the
file.
--------------------------------------------------

But i verified that i had the proper permissions to this database file.

Not being able to trobleshoot the problem i reinstalled the DNS service. It
went ok for a few days but now the error messages are again cropping up in
bunch of 9-10(usually when i shut down the server).

Please help!

In
update of domain name _gc/_ldap in zone
Is this the exact error?

Point two, if this zone is AD integrated, the zone data is stored in Active
Directory, not in the Systemroot\System32\Dns folder.

Does this happen only at startup and do you have only one DC?
If you have only one DC you may see these errors at startup due to the
startup order of AD and DNS. If one starts before the other, then DNS
cannot load the zone because AD hasn't started, or AD can't start because
DNS hasn't started.
Having two DCs up alleviates these errors at startup, or you can change the
zone to standard primary.
