dividing single document in to two equal halfs vertically

HI
can any one give me information so that i can divide a single document
in two halfs verticaly. because i worked on english document but now i have
to put a german translation text along with english text+graphics side by
side in a single doc. if any one can give me the useful information i would
realy appreciate that.
