diverting directories makes the target disappear

I am using a Dutch version of Vista, so apologies for possibly not using the
correct terminology. But Vista allows users to divert, to re-locate the
storage of the personal directories such as Documents and Pictures to another
disk than the c-drive. However, when I follow the instructions of the
helpfile and point Vista to the directory I would like to use, this target
directory then becomes invisible on the target drive itself. Very nasty when
other files and documents are being stored in that same directory. Restoring
to the original setting does not make the directory visible again. Instead
they seem to have disaapeared from the computer all together - even when I
set explorer to show hidden files. So, what is happening and how can I get my
directories and files back? Some help would really be appreciated. Thanks,
Ernst

Same problem here. They are in the same place, but I can't browse to them
using the folder path, e.g. c:\users\public\pictures\SLR. Now it's
c:\users\public\pictures\pictures (sort of).

When I changed the target, the dialog did not warn me that I was making a
change I wouldn't be able to undo. It also did not tell me how it was
renaming the folder.

As an admin on the system, I should be able to browse to all my folders as
they are stored on the disk.

hoping for a solution soon -
RH
