Distribution Lists on Outlook 2003

I have my email addresses in Outlook 2003 set up within categories. How can
I get up a distribution list for sending emails within that category? All I
get is my entire address book listing and not able to choose a category.

I assume that 2003 is the same as 2007. In 2007 you can highlight the
contact group and the go to the menu Tools\Mail Merge
