distribution lists and email

Can anyone tell me how I send an email to a distribution
list in outlook 2002 - the help instructions seem to be
inaccurate. they say to chose item from the insert menu -
however that is not a choice that appears on the insert
menu??

Create the distribution list. When you address the new message, click on the
To: field, browse to the DL name, and you're good to go.

Note - everyone will be able to see all the other DL members, so a better
option is to put the DL in the BCC field (blind carbon copy) and put your
own address in the TO field. Most people will appreciate it if you treat
their email addys as you would unlisted phone numbers.

You are reading instructions for how to send a DL, not how to send _to_ a
DL.
Put the DL in the To: field of a new message.
