Distribution List Limit?

In Outlook 2002, is there a limit to the number of members in a distribution
list (shared)?

We have a large distribution list that has been dropping names seeminly at
random. I can only guess that there is a limit to the number of names. Any
suggestions?

How large is the list? The limits on the number of recipients is based on
mail Admin or your ISP, not Outlook.

After furious head scratching, Jeff Schneider asked:

Yes, but it's not a fixed number like 150 or 700. It depends on the total
amount of information in the contact items in the DL. For contacts items
containing the minimum amount of information, it can be as many as 125 or
130. For lists containing contacts with more information, it can be as few
as 25. It can also depend on properties of the Exchange server.

I found this information in about 15 seconds in
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=238569 using the simple search string
"distribution list limit".

This distribution list is somewhere in the 800-1000 recipients range. Our own
IT people do not believe there is a limit, but the more names I add to the
list, the more people contact me saying they are not getting the
distributions.
