distorted audio

ever since I installed XP my CD audio is distorted. I
have tried many fiixes from various driver updates to
cd,and sound card. Both claim the problem resides with
MS XP. CD is TDK DVD420N. Sound card is Creative
Soundblaster PCI128. Any ideas?

Reduce the harware acceleration for the sound.

Did you up-grade to XP or clean install ?

I had an identical problem, clicked the accelarator one

click to the left, and it works fine now. I also have
the Creative Soundblaster.
