Displaying a presentation on a television

Do you know how I can get my power point presentation to display from a
laptop to my television? We can see that it brings it up on the T.V., but
it's all scrambled.

Each laptop seems to have its own method for getting this to work, but here
are some basics that should help you sort this out.

First, the TV does not have nearly the resolution of the laptop monitor
(usually about 1/4 the resolution), so you may need to dumb down the local
display to mimic the TV display. This will probably make anything but huge
text a bit rough.

If the laptop does not offer an S video out or RCA video out jack, then you
will need a VGA to RCA converter. These are not that expensive and are
simple to install in-line.

You may need to manually activate the video-out port on the laptop. One
laptop I had defaulted to this output disabled, so check with the laptop
manufacturers website for instructions on how to activate this feature.

In fact, that website might be a great first step along the solution path.
Since each company does things a bit differently, I would check with them,
or their documentation.
