Displaying a phone number in an Access report

I have a Contact Information Database with several phone
numbers per record. I have designed the phone number
fields with an input mask to display with parentheses and
hyphens. However, some of the fields display properly and
some do not(seemingly randomly). When I go back and re-
enter the data and rerun the report, it has no effect.
Any help is appreciated.
 
Can you give some description as to what you see when the
number is displayed incorrectly?
